PROJECTS:

By analysing 6 iconic garments (overcoat, pants, shirt, skirt, suit jacket/blazer, t-shirt) and a cuddly toy, I designed a capsule collection in the color white and three materials (cotton, jersey, wool). Designing from analysing existing shapes, patterns and constructions. Implementing them in the design process by technical drawing and precise shape research. My chosen cuddly toy is an elephant. The designs integrate the cuddly toy construction, designwise, in the garments During my research on my chosen cuddly toy, which is an elephant, I figured out the that the elephant's trunk is a very impressive multi-tool. Besides being a long nose used for smelling, breathing and trumpeting, it is also used as a hand to grab things and spray water to clean themselves. The trunk is also used as a huge straw to drink. Elephants are highly sensitive and caring animals, and have been observed to express grief, compassion, altruism and play. They perform greeting ceremonies when a friend that has been away for some time returns to the group, and they sometimes ‘hug’ by wrapping their trunks together. It's probably the most amazing body part in the animal kingdom! That's why this part of the elephant will be the inspiration of my capsule collection.
